Well, as I stated on Monday, the OB said I was 1 cm and 90% effaced. I could go at any moment, but the thought was that it would be at least a few more days. However at 11:45 PM on Monday night, I went into labor. When we got to the hospital at 2 AM, I was 3 cm. Around 3:30ish I was 4 cm and they decided to admit me. I progressed to 7 cm by about 5:30-6. Then my progress stopped. I was placed on pitocin and then we waited. Finally, around 1PM, I was about to start pushing. Kyle did not react well to the stronger contractions and the 2 hours of pushing. His heart rate kept dropping and taking too long to come back up. Additionally, he had gotten stuck, so my doctor decided that is was best to get Kyle out quickly before more complications came about. This lead to an emergency C-Section. April and David were very supportive and helpful during the delivery process. When I went to the OR, David was super encouraging. I was nervous because it was yet another surgery. Thank you both so much for your love and support. At 4:09 PM on Tuesday April 20, 2010 we welcomed Kyle David Winters into the world. He weighed 6 pounds 15 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. We all cried with joy for his arrival!
Tuesday night, my dad (Poppy at least for the time being), David's mom (Nana), April, and Michelle (a co-worker) all visited with us. Wednesday night Poppy, Nana, Aunt Meredith, Stacy (my teammate at work), John (Stacy's husband), and Kelly came to visit. Kyle has done so well with all the visitors and sleeping through the sounds and lights! He is also doing great with his eating and sleeping. Last night he slept a little over 4 hours and we had to wake him to eat. His pediatrician is very pleased with how he holds his head, his leg/back/arm/grip strength as well. He also commented that we are lucky that Kyle really only truly cries when in need of a diaper change. Kyle will whimper when he is hungry or wants to be held; as soon as either one is done, he is very content. Again this is viewed as unusually good behavior...YAY!
Obviously I was not able to finish the week out at school, but things seem to be going nicely. I have also completed all my classwork for my masters class that ends this Friday. The class is officially over on Sunday, but I am done! This is great because now I get time with David, Kyle, and Bandit! My 3 boys!
David and I are both very excited to have Kyle here with us finally, and love him with all our hearts. Thank you to everyone for all their support and well wishes!

OB Visit
Well, another OB visit down. The heart rate was on the low end of normal, but they said that he is still looking good. I have dilated 1 cm and am 90% effaced. 10% more and then I can truly start to dilate. The doctor says it could come in the next few days, but more than likely it will be another week. I just want Kyle to stay as healthy and safe as possible. Tomorrow we hit single digit count down, so keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
I also only have 6 days left until my class is over, so that is good news. I turn in my final paper tonight!
On the schedule for tomorrow is my Dad's birthday cook out here accompanied by a walk with Bandit. Wednesday will be a calmer day with just David, myself, and Boo. School on Thursday will be hectic with it being Earth Day and we have a huge celebration all afternoon. Friday just brings another normal day. This weekend is planned with nothing to do, but prepare for Kyle...unless he plans on arriving sooner :) Stay tuned for more to come!

Our Saturday
This week finally ended with a 2 hour early dismissal and PJ day on Friday. It seemed to drag on and on! I have been getting up between 4:45 and 5 every morning and the sleep I am getting before that stinks. I know we won't get a ton of sleep once Kyle arrives, however the quality will be better than what I am getting now. For David, well he maybe hurtin on the sleep end since he normally gets 9ish hours or so. We shall see. We are both ready for Kyle to come. We love you little nut!
This afternoon we went to a surprise celebration party for David's cousin Gillian and her husband Jim. They got married in January, but the party was today. It was held at Jim's bar in Canton called Mike McGovern's. It was great to see the family, but I am also glad to be home and resting.
We attempted to sit outside with Bandit when we got home, but the wind is crazy and it is just too cold, so in we came. We are down to 12 days left, and I am ready to hold Kyle in my arms. We go to the OB on Monday, so I will update what they say then. Enjoy the 38 week pics below:)

Why do the pictures make him look so much bigger than just a mirror?! Our watermelon needs to get here soon!

38 Weeks
Well, we are down to two weeks left!
38 Weeks pregnant
I went to the OB on Tuesday and they put me on a stress monitor, heart rate monitor, and contraction monitor. I had felt a lot of movement on Sunday. Kyle's normal schedule is that if he is super active one day, the next day he is calmer. So, Monday I did not think too much about it when he was calmer. However, Tuesday he barely moved at all. So when I got to the doctor they were concerned and wanted to check everything. At first his heart rate was kind of low, but not awful. I was having regular contractions, but only a few were major. Also, he did not seemed to be stressed. They told me though that I have to keep a closer eye on his movements and if there are any other problems, to call them immediately. I just hope Kyle stays healthy and safe! They also told me I was thinning a little, but I should expect to still be hanging on till at least the middle of next week. I am perfectly okay with that, and would not mind too much finishing out next week at school because it is a pretty crazy week. But, I want Kyle here very soon so that we can hold him and love on him. Time will tell. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers!
My class is over on April 25th! I completed all the work last weekend as far as papers go, and just have to reply to discussion posts and edit the final two papers and turn them in. It will be nice to have off from classwork till late October early November:)
Pictures to come on Saturday!

37 Weeks
Well, Thursday we hit 37 weeks! As of today I am officially down to 19 days left:) I am very ready for baby Kyle to arrive. It feels as though he has continued to drop, but we shall see on Tuesday when I return to the OB for another check up. I hope to hear some really good news that he has finished dropping, or is about finished. I would also love to hear that I have started to dilate. I know that that does not mean he will come that day, but at least it would be a step in the right direction.
37 Weeks
David has been very busy this weekend on the bar. Kelly and I went to Yellowfin tonight for one last outing before Kyle arrives. All of David's work friends were excited to see me and are awaiting the day that David arrives with pictures. Many of them looked at me and said that I look like my normal self with a baby tied on the front. I found this funny, and can only hope that my post baby weight comes off as quickly and easily as everyone tells me it will.
We did get to go for a nice walk with Bandit around the neighborhood before David went to work today. We will try and accomplish this tomorrow as well.
I have finished all my masters classwork but one paper. That is on my agenda for tomorrow. I see the light at the end of the tunnel!
David is planning on going golfing with Reed on Tuesday as one last outing before Kyle comes, and then we will finally have some QT together since we have not had any true time together since Wednesday night because he has been at work everyday.
I am truly looking forward to having Kyle here to love on and hold. Enjoy the few pictures below, stay tuned for more information, and pray for a safe and quick arrival for our little miracle!

OB Visit
Well, I have now started going to the OB on a weekly basis. Kyle's heart rate is great, and he has started to drop! The OB says that he is around 6 pounds and I am definitely all baby since I am all upfront. It is so funny to hear them say that since everyone I come across tells me the same thing. I have not dilated at all, but that is more than okay since I want to make it till Monday so David can have his weekend working on the bar. However, come Monday I would love Kyle's arrival at any moment! I just can't wait to hold him in my arms and be able to him how much we love him!
My first day back to school went really well. The kids were happy to be back and worked very hard. I just hope the rest of this week goes as smoothly. Some of the kids told me that they were glad to see me back and that I was not already out for 6 weeks.
Yesterday we took Bandit for a walk down by the river where he got to swim. Then we came back and David did some much needed yard work while Bandit and I sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. Today was gorgeous as well. Kelly and I enjoyed a picnic lunch at school today and plan on doing it again tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will stay nice for the rest of the week.
We hit 37 weeks on Thursday, so look for pictures and more info to come!

Happy Easter
Happy Easter everyone!
Yesterday was a busy yet productive day. At 8:30 we met up with my dad to get the moving truck so that he and David could move his remaining things to his house. Once we get the basement rearranged to our liking and the pictures hung up, we will post some more pictures. The first trip I remained at home with Bandit since I can't do heavy lifting anyway. When they came back for the second load, I tagged along so that we could go get some grub afterwards. We ate at Gina's Cantina here in Millersville. It is a hole in the wall Mexican place with GREAT food and pretty good prices. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine.
Reed came up and gave us the infant car seat, bases, and frame stroller. We plan on using this car seat for about the first 2-3 months and then moving Kyle into our wonderful convertible car seats! Once we got home, we installed the car seat mats and car seat bases. We are officially ready for Kyle to arrive:) David works all next weekend on the bar, so I have been saying that any day after Sunday the 11th is free reign and would welcome his safe and healthy appearance at anytime.
As I enter my 6th week of my class, I am down to only have 1 big paper and 1 small paper left to write. The plan is that I will get them both done by the end of next weekend since David does work the whole time.
Duke has made it to the finals in the NCAA tournament and David was able to switch his shift to work Tuesday and have off tomorrow to watch the game. It will be nice to have my last day of Spring Break to be with David all day. We are going to prep the guest room so that when dad comes to stay with Bandit when we go to the hospital, it is all ready. We also want to take Bandit down to the river to swim. It should be an enjoyable day together.
I am excited about going to the OB on Tuesday to see what they have to say and hear Kyle's heartbeat again:)

36 Weeks
We finally hit the 9 month mark on Thursday:)
36 Weeks pregnant
With only 27 days to go til due date, we have finally finished Kyle's room! I am starting to feel bigger and bigger, though those around me still say I am small and all baby. That will be helpful in losing the weight after Kyle arrives. As I stated the other day, the doctors say he is very healthy sized and that is all that matters. Little Kyle, we are excitedly awaiting your appearance we love you!
36 Weeks.
David says he can palm baby Kyle, so I guess he is still a basketball and not a melon :)
Bandit got into the action of finishing Kyle's room and wanted his picture taken too. He sat pretty and smiled up at us saying COOKIES!
Baby Kyle's closet with his handmade picture frame from Sarah above it.
Kyle's closet all organized and ready for him.
Kyle's crib is ready for him to lay his little head. His books are in the cart that is holding his lamp and some of his toys.
The new Bamboo Roman Shade and adorable valance add a themed touch.
Kyle's dresser and changing table all ready for baby. and then there is me dreaming of having Kyle in my arms while rocking in the chair.

Tomorrow we are moving the rest of dads stuff to his house, and then will rearrange the basement and hang the pictures down there. We will also take Bandit for a nice walk on the beautiful day since he will be freaked out due to the moving. At 4:30 Mary and Reed are bringing over the infant car seat and bases for us to have. They will help us install the bases into the cars and then we will truly be ready to bring little peanut home.
I have a little over 3 weeks left in my second masters class. I have 2 big papers to write still and 1 small paper. Considering the rest of the class still has 4 small papers and 2 big papers, along with all the readings and DVDs to watch, I am well ahead of the game. Thank goodness!
I return to the regular OB on Tuesday, along with returning to the classroom. Hopefully things will continue to run smoothly and we will get to meet our little bundle of joy in the next 2-3 weeks. We love you Kyle and can't wait for you to be apart of our family!

Busy Day
Our day started out bright and early with our living alarm clock (Bandit) waking us up to be fed at 7am. At 7:30 the actual alarm went off , we were up and going to get ready for our busy day. Around 8:35 we left the house to bring some hand me down clothes to Meredith for baby Max. From there we headed to the High Risk OB. They said everything looks great and that he is about 5 pounds 13 oz. They also commented that they would not be the least bit surprised if I went earlier rather than later since Kyle is just running out of space lol. His heart rate was great and he was active:) I just hope to make it through the end of next week so I can get my kids settled back in after spring break. Time will tell.
From there we went to Babies-R-Us to get a few small items. Then we ran to Carters to return some clothes, and get a few toys. After that came Bed Bath and Beyond to get Kyle's window shade and valance rod. Sears came next with a return, and David needed to get some new wind pants. We finally went and got some lunch at Famous Dave's and then headed home.
Once we got home, we changed into some lighter clothes and took Bandit on a walk that was over an hour and about a 1.5 miles long. It felt great for everyone. Now that the warmer weather really starts to be rolling in, I hope it stays!
I have some school work to do tonight, and tomorrow I am treating myself to a pedicure for the first time since last summer. We then hope to get another nice walk in with Bandit before David is off to work. On Saturday we are moving the remaining items of Dads over to his place. We will then rearrange the basement some and set up some pictures. We hit 36 weeks tomorrow, so some pictures will follow :)

Spring Break
So far this weekend and the first day of spring break have been very productive. We have gone through all of the clothes we received for Kyle, washed them, and put them away in their respective places based on age. We have put up all but a few last minute decorations up in his room as well. Today we went to Babies-R-Us and got a lot of the final things we needed for baby Kyle's arrival. Tomorrow we meet with the pediatrician, and we will finally get that hospital bag packed. On Wednesday we head to High Risk OB at 9:30 for a check up, then have multiple errands to run in Annapolis. That is going to be another long but productive day.
As I enter my 5th week of my class, I am down to having only 3 big papers to write, and 2 small papers. By the end of the week, I will be down to 2 big papers and 1 small paper. I have definitely been successful in getting ahead of my work!
As we near Kyle's arrival, I get more excited everyday. I just want him here healthy, safe, and sound so that we can love on him and hold him. Bandit is very interested in all his things as well, and we are excited to have Bandit meet his little brother.
After our OB appointment, I will update everyone with how Kyle and mommy are doing. Thursday we hit 4 weeks left!
