One Week

Today marks one week since Kyle was born. Things have been going great, and we love Kyle so much! It is amazing how much love you can have for a little one that you have only known for a week. I do tend to worry about him a lot, but it is only cause I care so much. Plus that is just how I am lol. I would do anything for him:) Yesterday Kyle went to the doctors for his hospital release check up. We had a ton of questions for them, but Kyle is looking great. His discharge weight was 6 pounds 9 ounces and he has gained an ounce and a half since being home. He never ended up with jaundice, which is nice. We go back on Wednesday May 5th for a two week check up. I just hope he continues to do well and stay healthy.

Bandit is doing so well with Kyle and we could not be happier. We are so blessed to have two wonderful "little boys". Bandit especially loves it when we all go for a walk, like we did again today. Hopefully the weather will continue to get nicer so that we can do that more often!

I go back to the doctor for a two week check up on Tuesday May 4th. Hopefully they will have good news that I am doing well. My swelling continues to go away, but it is a slow go. I am still sore, but am trying to rest as much as possible. The weird thing is, that they want me up and walking to keep the blood flowing, but resting as well. Confusing!

David goes back to work on Friday. It will be hard on him and me. We have been enjoying our family time so much. However, it is much needed since we are losing money with him not working. Karen (Nana) will be joining us to help out with Kyle since I am still supposed to be resting. We are looking forward to having her here, and I am sure that she is looking forward to a lot of time with Kyle as well.

Last night we had Dan over to meet Kyle, and we all had dinner together. Doyle (Pop pop) joined us for an over night. He was on his way back from Ohio and had not met Kyle yet. He got to our house around 8:30 PM and was so excited to finally get to hold his first grandson. Kyle was very good and even opened his eyes for him. We all hung out until about 11 PM when Pop pop went to bed and we followed around midnight after a feeding.

Tomorrow we have to run a few errands. Well Kyle and I will go for a ride and David will actually do the errands. Thursday, we will go to the Board of Ed so that I can add Kyle to our insurance, we had talked about going today, but the lawn needed to mowed and since yesterday had been a busy morning, we wanted the chance to catch up on some sleep.

My class is now over, and I am awaiting my final grade. As of right now, I have an A with only a small paper left that she has not graded, and the percentage that this paper holds, I could have not done the paper and still gotten an A- in the class. Here's hoping to getting two A's in my first two masters classes. Things are school seem to be going smoothly. I will check in with the sub in a couple of days. Now, I can relax with my family and enjoy my time home with Kyle, David, and Bandit!

Mommy and Kyle sleeping...this is what happens when you get up too early.
Too cute, but I should probably not do this too often.

Home

After a couple more days in the hospital, we were finally discharged on Friday April 23, 2010 at 12:15 pm. We are glad to be home, but miss the expert advice right at our finger tips. Kyle had a lot of visitors at the hospital which was great. We are welcoming others to visit us at home now, as long as you are not sick and hands get washed before you hold him please. Today, Melissa and Mark came over to meet him and give Kyle a few gifts. It was great to see them since it has been since my shower that I have seen Melissa. We also went on our first walk outside today with Kyle all bundled up. It was sunny and about 60 when we went out, so it was not bad. Hopefully the weather gets warmer for us to get out more soon. Tomorrow Kyle will get his first bath at home which should be interesting. On Monday, we go to the pediatrician to get a check-up and probably set up appointments for shots and what not. On Tuesday we will go to the Board of Ed to add Kyle to our health insurance. Thank goodness they will cover him the first 30 days without the paper work filled out lol. That would make the hospital stay very difficult. I will keep everyone posted on what the doctor says on Monday about our precious little package.
