Summer 2010

Well summer officially began on Monday. I do not have to go back to work till August 16th! David and I are staying home this summer with no vacations to make our first summer home with Kyle a bit easier. We will do evenings up at the pool and by August we should be able to venture out during the day a bit easier since Kyle will be older. We also plan on taking Bandit on some great walks as well. We are looking into getting some new furniture for the kitchen and family room. We are just waiting on holiday sales to arise. We want to get new carpets as well, but that will take more planning and saving than the furniture will, so that is more like 6 months out before we can do that. Stay tuned for more pictures of Kyle during his first summer!

Fathers Day 2010

This year David took off from work to enjoy his first Fathers Day. At 2 o'clock my dad, David, Kyle, and I went to Paul's Homewood Cafe for brunch. None of us had ever been there and the food was great. We had a relaxing day and enjoyed getting to spend time together. It was nice that David got to have off for his first Fathers Day, especially since he worked on Mothers Day.

BBQ

This past Saturday we went to April and Ben's to have a Fathers Day cookout. The twins have gotten so big! We put Kyle in the baby pool as well. We think he was not too fond of the luke warm warm. He loves to take a bath, so we shall try again up at the Shipley's pool that has been basking in the sun and heat. We had a great time hanging out and catching up. Hopefully more BBQ will follow this summer!

On Wednesday the 16th, Kyle went and got his first round of shots. I was not there since I had to go back to work that day. David said he did well though. Recently Kyle has started sleeping 7-8 hours over night which is nice for us! Hopefully that will continue:)

Work went well for me and David and Kyle had a great time together! I am just glad to have the rest of summer to be with them. I know it will be hard to really go back to work in August since I will have basically been off for about 17 weeks!

Chillin like a villain. Sleeping with puppy. The twins have gotten so big!

End of the Year

I can't believe that tomorrow is the last day of school. This year has been the best year ever with my kids. They were so well behaved and so smart! I have genuinely missed them while I have been home. I am going to go to school tomorrow for about 2 hours to see them off. Additionally, I return to work on Wednesday from my maternity leave. It is hard to think that tomorrow Kyle is 8 weeks old:) We seem to slowly be on the mend from our sicknesses. I still have a bit of a sore throat, and Kyle is still having some diarrhea, but all in all things are sorta looking up. On Wednesday, David is taking Kyle to the doctors for his 8 week check up and shots and then Nana is coming over to watch Kyle while David comes to school to help me in the classroom with the heavy lifting and what not. It is strange since I don't have any time to get my classroom packed up, that I am actually going to need all the teacher work days which is not much. We have a full day of in-service, so I only get 2 days to do all my end of year stuff :( Oh well, I only have to work 3 days before being home for another 8 weeks! Man August is going to be hard! We are looking forward to our BBQ at April and Ben's on Saturday:)

Wiggle and Giggle Time

Recently Kyle has really started to love what we call Wiggle Time. We lay him down on his play mat or a blanket and he loves to wiggle and have fun. He has already rolled onto his side! He has also started smiling more. He has been smiling at me for about the past week or so and just yesterday smiled at David. I can't believe that on Tuesday he will be 8 weeks old! I do go back to work on the 16th for 3 days, and that will be hard on everyone I am sure. Kyle also has his 2 month check up with shots that day. That is going to be a hard day for me.

The past few days have been rough on us both. He has been battling diarrhea and I have had a sore throat and cough. I just hope we both get better soon!

My two children know how to share already!
Boppy time!
Time to wiggle!
Wiggle time is a happy time :)

Date Night and USNA

Yes, I know I have slacked a little bit, but here we go. On Tuesday the 1st, April came down to watch Kyle so that David and I could go out and celebrate my birthday. We were so grateful to her and Kyle loved the time with his aunt! Earlier that day, I had a pedicure and a massage as a part of my birthday treat as well.

On Wednesday we met David's dad down at the Naval Academy for some pictures. Since Doyle is a '65 grad, we thought it would be neat to have pics of Kyle and Pop pop on the Yard.

David ended up working the whole weekend, so not much occurred. However, I want to tell my grandma that she is loved, since she passed away peaceful of natural causes on Sunday the 6th. We were going to try and make it up to New Jersey for the funeral, but the logistics of everything could not come together.

Tomorrow I am going to school to finish report cards, do some text book inventory, and then go to a retirement dinner for two of our staff members. David will have Kyle for 7 or so hours, this will be a good trail run for next week when I go back to school for a few days.

We have planned Kyle's Baptism for Saturday July 31, 2010. His two Godmothers are April and Melissa. They are both very excited and we cannot wait for the event. Next Saturday we are planning on going up to visit with April, Ben, and the twins for a BBQ picnic. Hopefully the weather holds out!

The newest thing Kyle has done is to roll over onto his side completely! It was so neat, but also scary cause he does not have his neck 100% under control so I don't want him to not be able to breath. Tomorrow marks 7 weeks for Kyle...I can't believe it!
