Trip to Annapolis

Today we decided to try and go see the Plebes at the Naval Academy climb Mt. Herdon. Well, we apparently did not get moving quick enough and missed it. On top of that they do not allow pets on the yard during Commissioning Week, so we would have missed it anyway since we had Bandit with us. Instead, we went for a walk all around downtown. We ran into a high school friend of Davids who owns a jewelry store downtown and she had a beautiful silver cup for Kyle as a gift! That was so kind of Tiffany. We got some really cute pictures of Kyle and Bandit downtown. The plan is to meet Doyle next Wednesday to go onto the Academy to take pictures then. Additionally, we will try and stop by my school before we meet up with Doyle so that I can introduce Kyle to my students and coworkers.

April has offered to watch Kyle for us one night next week so that David and I can get out for a little. So as of right now, the plan is to do that on Tuesday. Thursday is my birthday and David is working, so it will be like a belated celebration for us. It will be nice to get out a little, but I will definitely miss Kyle while we are out, but I know he will be in great hands!

Thursday evening, David wanted me to take a few pics of Kyle to mark the 1 month birthday. So I took some to show his size with some of his stuffed animals, and some of just him.

I can't believe that tomorrow he will be 5 weeks old. It is so hard to believe. I am just hoping that in the next few weeks we start to get into a more normal sleep routine. All in all, this has been 5 of the best weeks of our lives!

1 Month Old

Well, today marks one month since Kyle was born! It is hard to believe that this little guy has been with us for only a month when I cannot remember being without him. Well I remember sleep to a certain point hehehe. We have had many ups and a few downs in trying to get Kyle's tummy issues under control. We seem to be doing better, so fingers crossed. Now if we could only get him to sleep better at night lol.

On Sunday, my Aunt Monica came up from Virgina to meet Kyle on her way to to New Jersey with my dad to visit my grandma. It was great that she finally got to meet her great nephew. Earlier this week Doyle (Pop pop) came over to Annapolis and stopped by with cousin Bailey to visit. Bandit loved having his cousin here to play with, and Kyle and Pop pop got some quality time together. Yesterday, we ran some errands and Kyle enjoyed being in the car and his stroller.

I found out today that I was approved for 10 extra days off from work using the TAAAC Sick Leave Bank. This way, I will be able to be out for my required 8 weeks, and only have 2 non paid days off. I had 28 days and they are giving me 10, so 2 is not too bad. This does mean that I will go back to work on June 16th, which is the first day of just teachers. I will work the 16th-18th and then be off till August 16th, or around there. I will go to school as a visitor on the 15th to see the kids off. This also means that David will not have to be Mr. Mom until August lol and I will basically get 16 weeks home with all my boys.

I am still awaiting my transcripts from my masters classes so that I can turn them into the Board of Ed for reimbursement. I did get 2 A's this semester. I only have 8 more classes to go. As nice as it will be to have them done and get the extra money, I am enjoying not having classwork to do :)

Tomorrow David has to clean the gutters and mow the lawn. We want to run to Babies R Us for a few items, and then take a nice walk with Bandit. David does not work tomorrow, but does work all day on Saturday and Sunday on the bar, Monday night on the floor, and Tuesday night on the bar again. So after tomorrow it is going to be a long couple of days.

The first few pictures are when Nana and Aunt Marilyn came to visit, and I forgot to post them. Then we get into newer ones. Enjoy!

Visitors

Tuesday afternoon, Nana and Aunt Marilyn came to visit Kyle.

David and I got to have three whole days together, so that was nice. He worked on Thursday, but it was a short shift. Last night however he was on the bar and did not get home till 1 AM.

Kyle's tummy issues are kinda under control, but we still have some troubles from time to time. This caused Kyle to not want to really nap last night, so it was a long evening. Kelly came to hang out, so it was nice to have someone to talk to. Kyle did sleep from 1:30 till 5:30 and then 6 till 8:30 this morning. That was nice, but he is not liking to nap during the day. In fact, he was up for over 4 hours this morning. I think he has his mommy's sleeping habits, or lack their of. Hopefully we will get his tummy figured out and into somewhat more of a routine pretty soon.

Tomorrow David works at 10 and will probably not be home til 8 or 9 at night. Another VERY long day. April is coming down to hang out for part of the day, so that will be nice! Additionally, my aunt Monica and my dad will be coming over in the early evening for Monica to meet Kyle. Hopefully he will not be super fussy.

I love holding him in my arms, but hate when I cannot make him feel better! I know that is just a part of being a parent, but my heart hurts for him and I just wish I had a magic spell to make it all better.

My three boys! At least Bandit is not running from the crying:)

So precious!
I know I look tired, but I love him so much!!!
Kisses for Kyle.
I love you little bird:)

3 Weeks Old

Well today marks 3 weeks old for Kyle:) We have been trying to figure out Kyle's tummy issues over the past week and it has not been easy! We have had to switch to a lactose free formula, and put him on mylicon. He has had constipation, gas, and just pain. I feel so bad for him and can't do anything, but just wait it out at this point. We did go to the doctors today to make sure that he is still gaining weight. He was 8 pounds 4 ounces. He has gained 8 ounces in 5 days. The norm is 1 ounce a day, but considering he was not gaining as quickly before because of the wrong formula, he is trying to catch up. He is in the 25% range for weight so he is not over weight. He is starting to go longer between feedings so that is nice as well. We were told to stay on the new formula till his 2 month check up on the 16th of June unless other things pop up. We are praying that things just continue to improve for him!

Sunday was my first Mother's Day. David worked which was really good money, but we missed him. My dad was able to come over and spend the day with us which was nice.

Hopefully this Friday Kelly will be coming over to hang out and see Kyle for the first time since the hospital, and on Sunday April is supposed to be coming over to spend time with us for the first time since the hospital as well! I can't wait for both of them to see our little man.

April and Lynn have been very helpful in reassuring us on all of Kyle's tummy troubles. Thank you both so much, without you we might have been completely lost!

David gets to be home with us till 5 pm on Thursday, so that is nice! Even though the weather stinks, it is good to have family time. My family is the best...I love all three of my boys!

Trying to Find Routine

Well, Tuesday marked the 2 week mark of Kyle's birth! We fall in love with him more and more everyday:) I also went to the OB for my 2 week incision check up. I am allowed to drive, but still have to take it easy with lifting and doing things around the house. Yesterday, we went to the pediatrician for Kyle's 2 week check up. He has his second PKU done, and was weighed and measured. He is average height and low end of average for weight. Though he has already almost gained a pound since his birth weight and it is over a pound for his discharge weight. His weight was 7 pounds 12 ounces, and his height was 20.75 inches long. Seems like he is going to be a late grower like his mom and dad were. He returns for shots on June 16th...one of my first days back at work:( It is going to be so hard for me to be away from him during that time, but I know David will do a great job!

David ended up working on the bar last night, so it was just Kyle and I for the evening. Things went well, but it is kinda hard still since I am still sore from my surgery. Tonight, Karen will be here again to help out. Now if I could figure out someone for Sunday, things would be in better shape.

Kyle seems to love to sleep during the day and not at night right now. He will go 3-4 hours during the day if we let him and barely 2 at night...here's to hoping that that changes soon! Whatever the case maybe, Kyle is our little angel and we would do anything for him. I can't believe that I will have my first Mother's Day this Sunday...kinda hard to believe, but I could not be any happier!

Ready for a day of errands.
Tuesday May 4, 2010...Kyle was 2 weeks old! Bandit loves to have his picture taken too!

Back to Normal...Kinda

Well, I am starting to finally feel a little better. I am still sore, but am able to do more. We have been going on a few more walks, and hope to get Bandit down to the river on Tuesday or Wednesday. David went back to work on Friday night. It was hard on him, but we all managed. Nana came over to help out with Kyle Friday night, and is here till Tuesday to help out as well. It is so nice to have an extra set of hands:) Thanks Nana! I return to the doctors on Tuesday, and hope to receive good news on my healing process. Wednesday we return to the pediatrician for another check up. Again, hopefully Kyle is progressing nicely. He has been a little fussy yesterday and today, I am hoping there is nothing wrong. I know I tend to worry a lot, but I just want the very best for baby Kyle. After Wednesday, he will not return to the doctors until he is a month old for his shots. Please keep happy thoughts for us all:)

Enjoy the pictures of some awake time Kyle has had, and some relaxing in people's arms.
